Benediktbeuern campus
The Benediktbeuern campus is part of a listed monastery, which was built over a millennium ago by the Benedictines. Since 1972, students have received a scientifically sound education in social work, followed in 2014 by the successful introduction of the Bachelor's degree programme 'Religious Education and Ecclesiastical Education', which can be combined with social work in a double degree programme.
The university site is today considered to be the centre of youth work and education, cultural and theological education in the Bavarian Oberland (highlands). Where others go on holiday, here people of different age groups study in a relaxed and stimulating environment, are extremely well networked with each other, and benefit from direct and personal contact with the professors. In Benediktbeuern, around 150 students commence their studies per academic year, a number which enables individual and intensive teaching and learning.
