International Degree-Seeking Students
The student body at the KSH reflects the cultural and religious diversity of today's Germany. We highly appreciate applications from individuals who have obtained their higher education entrance qualification abroad.
Bachelor's or Master's degree programmes
If you want to study for a Bachelor's or Master's degree programme at the KSH, you must have advanced C1 level German language skills as all the degree programmes are taught in German. Everything you need to know about admission requirements can be found here.
Your higher education entrance qualification is evaluated by Uni Assist. You will find the application for pre-evaluation documentation here.
Recognition measures
Due to the rise in new immigration over the last few years, the number of people with foreign qualifications has increased sharply. The lack of national recognition of these, however, means that in most cases these people are unable to find work in line with their qualifications in the German labour market.
The KSH is responding to this challenge as well as the shortage of skilled state-approved social workers and educators by offering two recognition measures in the field of childhood education and upbringing as well as in social work. If you already have a foreign degree in childhood education and upbringing, education and/or social work, these two measures could be of interest to you:
- BEFAS (state-approved educator)
- IBS - International bridging seminar in social work for Bavaria (state-approved social educator)
Services
Helpdesk – German as a second language
The Helpdesk service is geared towards international full-time students at the KSH who are looking for help or support with the German language, for example with spelling, punctuation, grammar, style or expression, or want to know more about the origin and meaning of certain words and phrases.
Please come and see us! This service is based on an informal peer to peer network (tutor and learner), which means students help students by providing them with language support.
If you are interested in receiving help from the KSH Helpdesk service, please send your seminar papers or Powerpoint presentations to Carolina Espitia Gascon: carolina.espitiagascon@ksh-m.de. She will forward the files to the relevant tutor.
Important note on how it works: your texts will not be corrected or revised. If you have any questions or comments after the first review of your text, please contact your tutor again.
